The Coloma Capital team has worked extensively with smaller companies and understands the distinctive issues these companies face. We firmly believe that many smaller companies have exciting business opportunities that can create significant value if wisely implemented.
Founding Partner Bob Underwood has over thirty years of experience counseling business owners and senior management, acquiring small companies, and developing them into significantly larger enterprises. Bob has been a director of nineteen private companies, two publicly-traded companies, and one technology-oriented mutual fund, and was the only outside director of London-based BP plc’s solar energy subsidiary. He is a long-time past member of the Advisory Board for Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business and of the National Science Foundation’s Advisory Committee on Industrial Innovation. Bob holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS and PhD in Engineering Sciences, all from Stanford University, and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He authored the highly acclaimed history of hydroelectricity, Dam It! Electrifying America and Taming Her Waterways. He holds one US patent.
